Local Schools

Sienna Plantation is the home to three on-site elementary schools (Sienna Crossing, Scanlan Oaks, and Jan Schiff) and Baines Middle School. A high school is currently in development within the community and is set to open in Fall 2010 but for the time being, students in grades 9-12 may attend Hightower High School and Elkins High School in Missouri City. Students may also attend the schools of the Fort Bend Independent School District. Campuses for Houston Community College, Houston Baptist University, and the University of Houston in Sugar Land are located nearby for students and adult learners who are looking to earn their college degree or certificate.

A five-day celebration, the Grand Wine & Food Affair includes wine tasting, seminars, dinner and cooking classes, and other entertainment and activities. Thousands are drawn to this festival, with the highlight of the event being the Sienna Sip & Stroll, where attendees get a chance to sample a variety of wine and accompanying h?orderves at over 40 tasting tables.

Recreation & Golf

Outdoor recreational opportunities are plentiful in Sienna Plantation as there are miles of walking and jogging trails, 36 parks and playgrounds, and a 160-acre camping complex. Residents can even go boating, fishing and kayaking along any of Sienna Plantation?s lakes.

Golf enthusiasts will have many opportunities to play at the Sienna Plantation Golf Club. Featuring 18-holes that will challenge even the most advanced player, the courses are surrounded by a forest of oaks, cedar elms and a variety of other native trees and has been voted as the best public golf course in the county in 2003. The terrain of the course has been described as ?fairly flat?[but] contoured to provide dramatic elevation changes that will accent and enhance the design with artistic forms and shadows.?
